Air New Zealand has just launched non-stop flights between New York and Auckland, New Zealand. I was invited to fly on the inaugural flight which is currently the fourth longest flight in the world. The flight time was 16 hours 35 minutes. The video documents the whole flight experience from takeoff to landing. However, the inaugural did suffer a setback with a storm enroute which required additional fuel for safety so some bags were left behind. The current inward-facing Business Class seat on Air New Zealand will be replaced by a new product in 2024. I visited the new Skynest mock-up in Auckland. For the first time ever, economy class passengers are going to have the option of stretching out for some sleep on actual beds during their flight. The first class seating in first classs is horrible, plus they use these colors torment prisoners in some U.S. jails. I’m not flying Air New Zealand ever. But if Sam is on there, I will change my mind.

as cool as business class looks, the idea of facing the chairs inwards instead of outwards towards the windows is beyond stupid. your view is essentially other passengers and the isle. good thing other airlines weren't stupid and decided to orient their business class chairs towards the windows. common sense.
Wow, the worst designed business class seat ever. It's like they went out of there way to make it uncomfortable, awkward and have the least privacy possible. Pity the poor crew having to get past all the legs sticking into the aisle. As a last flourish lets put the screen to the side instead of in front. I would never fly an airline with that seat configuration.

I loved New Zealand i used to work on ships trading between NZ to West Coast USA with calls at Fiji, Pago Pago, Honolulu. I left the ship in Aukland and flew home with Air New Zealand Via Tahati , LA to London.
I can't believe this one. Australia air line is very bad, poor service, means no service, even you don't have blanket at night, if you can please go with, virgin, jetstar, or others, they are serve you as prisoner, exactly in sydney airport.and expensive,

Good airline, and always great service, pity they have stuffed up the business class configuration. It’s a deal breaker
