I have had an S30 for over a year and a half. The wood is delicate on the top section. I also find the lead advance is not that consistent. It's an amazing device though.
Japan makes the best mechanical pencils hands down. I remember back when the papermate mechanical pencils were made in Japan they were the best writing for how cheap they were but ever since they started making them in the U.S they suck now lol😂
wGU9cyIyeFw&t=3m41s 3:41 it sounds like some guided missiles with advance low RCS fired from aircraft carrier 😂
I found similar (and cheaper) mechanical pencil like Pilot S30 mechanical pencil if you want automatic lead advancement and not into drafting pencil, it is Faber Castell Grip Matic; and as I know, it's come only with 0,5mm lead size only. The price is very affordable for all user (under US$5) and the availability should be available everywhere (as Faber Castell is available globally). I'm from Indonesia and it's available everywhere, in a pack that come with a bonus 0,5mm lead refill & eraser.
The pencil construction is from plastic, but it's quite durable. The tip pipe had a soft spring, so a little bit push on the tip will extend the lead a little bit. Unfortunately the pipe cannot retract back so it will stay extended outside, but again, i love how the tip help the lead extending automatically.
The cons is:
1. it had a little bit rattling sound, and it's quite vibrate on grippy textured paper, but it's very smooth and quite nice on smooth paper.
2. the grip is not as comfy, as it's made from hard plastic rubber. so if you a strong gripper, you should add additional grip rubber with more cushioning (I see some of those sold online).
3. The tip pipe is help protecting the lead, but not so much. If you press down too hard or drop the pencil, the lead still had a chance breaking (usually in the between the clutch & the tip pipes), but still it is way better than Pentel Caplet (that pencil is lead breaker on my hand TwT).
Me with a platinum preppy in 5th grade “ nope i use pens” 😂
Why would you want to shake your pencil to advance lead? That makes no sense to me.
the pressure absorber would have saved me so many leads
I don't really need any stationary becuase got access to loads at work but this channel is just awesome.
22 bucks in india is like too much for a pencil
One of my favorite mechanical pencils is made by Tul, and as for a pen the ohto fude ball, its the biggest ball point pen @ 1.5mm!
I need the nicolo's mechanism. RIGHT. NOW.
'the air*white* comes in 6 colours

In love with these!
Not the mogo lair mechanical pencils
I use pens. 😂
I just love the story about the space pen the United States developed for millions upon millions of Dollars, so it works in space without the effect of gravity.
The Russians just used a pencil for 10 cents.
I don't even like pencils, but now I want all of these for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I usually use a .33¢ blue BIC pen... And on really special ocassions, a .99¢ black gel pen. 😏
