They let us borrow this vehicle from one of their 32 North American dealerships to use for a week and really get to know the car. With over 3,000 vehicles in stock, chances are HGregoire has the right car for you. Save $200 on your purchase by visiting 🤍 This week on TestDrive Spotlight we're featuring our first Porsche. It's been about 15 years since the last time I drove a Cayenne, that being a Turbo and one first years of production for the Canadian market. This second generation Cayenne is larger than than the first, and also a facelift model. Ours may be an 'entry-level' engine but ours is optioned very well, with many features buyers will be pleased to find on a vehicle that cost about $84,000 new, and can be purchased for less than half today. We spend some time talking about the specifications for this vehicle including the original MSRP, the different trim designations for this production, and the numbers on the 3.6L VR6 engine. We discuss some of the packaging and options selected on this specific Umber Metallic Cayenne including the towing package, premium package, 18-way adjustment power front sport seats, panoramic sunroof, side power sun shades, and front heated & ventilated seats. We take the 2016 Porsche Cayenne on a real-world road test including the fuel economy we recorded during our independent testing. We discuss how the interior flows and functions compared to other luxury SUVs we've driven, along with some of the quirks on this Porsche. Our test vehicle comes with 82,000km on the odometer, and has zero issues or problems, showing us that longer-term reliability is still a key factor when it comes to Porsche. We talk about our experience daily driving this SUV for a week including how the ride, drive, performance, and handling feels as well as how it compares to other vehicles we've tested. We also talk about some of the reasons you'd want to consider this Porsche Cayenne even if it is a 'base model'. We wrap up our full tour and comprehensive review on the 2016 Porsche Cayenne with a buyer's guide on this vehicle, the second generation Cayenne, and the Cayenne in general including common problems with these SUVs, which model years you should avoid at all costs, and some of the issues that can come up with the Cayenne and other Porsche models from similar model years. This week on the Yippie Cayenne build, Ben and Mike dig into the Cayenne to prep it for a trip to Eurowise Performance in North Carolina. For the Cayenne to be the overlanding SUV of Ben’s dreams, it needed some help in the off-road department. While able to raise itself, the Turbo's suspension was primarily engineered for street driving, as were the 20” wheels. As specialists in lifting and off-roading Porsches, Audis, and VWs, Eurowise was the perfect place to take the Cayenne to get all kitted out for a day on the trails. However, before any of that fun stuff started, Ben and Mike had some repairs to make on ol’ Yippie. This is a short video of my top 6 issues I have had with my Porsche Cayenne V6 variant. Let me know what you think and leave your comments below for the group. 1. AIR SUSPENSION Models with air suspension are prone to failing. The traditional conversion is switching it to traditional coils which is arguably more liable. Mine is a base model so it did not have air suspension but I do know it is a common fail point. BRAKE PADS/ROTORS Pad, rotors and pad sensors go faster than most cars of this size and I assume that is because of its weight. It is a heavy car to say the least so expect to change your pads more frequently than normal SUVs. 2. HEADLIGHTS My headlights hazed over time from being exposed in the sunlight. I resurfaced mine so they are very clear now and looking excellent. 3. PCV VALVE DIAPHRAGM This is an expensive fix because it is integrated into the valve cover on the V6 variant and dealers won't replace just the diaphragm, they replace the whole valve cover and the job is about $2,000 to $2,500. You can, however, replace only the diaphragm which is about $90 for a good quality one and this is exactly what I did. My valve cover was in mint condition and I just didn’t see why I would need a new cover. 4. REAR HATCH STABILIZER BARS/ WINDOW GLASS BUTTON MOTOR This can be a pretty expensive job as well and estimated at $1,500. If you follow my channel, you can get this job pretty easily. Make sure to subscribe and check out the library for the DIYs. 5. 02 SENSORS Both pre and post sensors on my Cayenne have been replaced. If replacing the sensors don’t fix your CEL, it is your cats that have gone out or you can get bunks to override the CEL 6. RADIO RESET Once in a while, my radio resets once the car is turned off and all my radio stations reset to factory which is super annoying. My seat settings etc. do not change though. If you have any ideas, let me know. I was thinking the battery may be losing charge but seems like it is holding according to the gauge meter. Like and leave your comments below.
