Why do I hike 2: Hardships of a thru hike is in editing process. You can see the trailer here: 🤍 Hi, my name is Nikola Horvat - Tesla and I present to you my first solo documentary. In summer of 2019. I went to hike Colorado Trail to find the reasons why do I hike. This was independent project and the movie was filmed, edited and written by myself. It was challenging to carry all of video equipment in my backpack, but I had a vision and a goal - I wanted to capture my inner reasons why I do hike and why do I always go back to long distance hiking. Why do I hike won 3 grand prix awards and it was once a finalist and official selection on various film festivals: Croatian travel festival/Dijana Klaric award 2020: 1st prize Mosor film festival: 1st prize 3FoK, Bosnia and Herzegovina: 1st prize Godollo film festival, Hungary: official selection Kharkiv international festival of arts and travel, Ukraine: official selection Lookout wild film festival, Tennessee, USA Please consider subscribing, hit SUPER THANKS and share this movie :) THANK YOU Follow me on social media: 🤍nikolahorvat.com 🤍 Instagram: nikolahorvat_tesla One more thing! ► Group Hike to PATAGONIA 🤍 ► 🤍 ► GUIDE 🤍 ► GEAR 🤍 ► PRINTS OF MADEIRA 🤍 ► This trip is made possible by SOTO (🤍 Adventure Menu (🤍 and Trek Mates (🤍 ► ABOUT THIS HIKE In January 2023 I hiked for 10 days on the Island of Madeira. I started in the small town of Porto Moniz in the west and headed up the great plateau of Paul da Serra. I visited the 25 Fontes waterfalls and passed through a 2-kilometers tunnel to get to the coastal town of Seixal. Back on the pleteau I headed east towards Pico Grande, the second tallest peak on the island. I slept in a cave and descended down to the remote town of Curral Das Freiras (the valley of the nuns) hidden in a deep valley. I climbed up to the main ridge but was forced to descend down again the next morning due to unseasonable amounts of rain and cold. The next morning I climbed back up via a different route and merged onto trail PR1 via Pico do Arieiro. PR1 is the most beautiful trail on the island. I climbed to the top of the island: Pico Ruivo at 1862 meters. I camped overlooking the valley of Curral Das Freiras with an astonishing sunset. The last day I arrived on the peninsula Ponta de Sao Lourenco, the furthest one can walk east. I went hiking the deadliest hiking trail in the world in Huashan mountain near Xi'an, China. It was one of the best experiences I ever had. Morning time around 6am I woke up and a driver picked me up to take me to the base of Huashan mountain. once I got to the base of Mount Hua I got my tickets to get in the mountain and got the cable car which takes around 10 minutes to go up. If you take huashan cable car you skip a couple thousand steps but still once you reach up with the cable car you still have to walk around 3500 steps. Hiking huashan mountain can be one of the deadliest hiking trail in the world because of its safety, once you are going up there is no much protection for you and false step can get you injured very easily in these deadliest hiking trails. The most famous part of huashan mountain in china is the cliffside plank walk. This huashan cliffside plank walk is very scary and famous for how high it is. This cliffside plank walk attracts many tourists and the queue to go to it may take up to 3 or 4 hours. I took a whole day to hike huashan mountain, I made a lot of pictures and videos and I even used my drone there. Hiking mount huashan is a bit scary but at the same time you will love it by the pictures you will be able to get. And this cliffside plank walk is one of the deadliest hiking trails in the world because some people take off their harness so they can have better pictures and once you take it off, one false step and you are gone. ► Group Hike to PATAGONIA 🤍 🤍 Store with prints - 🤍 ABOUT THE HIKE In October 2022 I hiked a part of the Alta Via 2 route in the Dolimites, Italy. My route started at Passo Rodella (1870m) where I headed into the Peitlerkofelgruppe. I camped in Val della Roa just past Forcella della Roa (2617m). The second day I headed into the Puezgruppe and camped near the peak of Sass da Ciampac (2667m). Day 3 I headed down to Passo Gardena (2121m) and up into Gruppo del Sella into the fog. I passed Refugio Franco Cavazza al Piscidù (2587m) and headed through the snow to Refugio Boè without seeing a single person. On day 4 the weather had cleared and I headed down to Passo Pordoi from where I drove to Gruppo della Marmolada only to find out my originally planned route was closed off due to recent avalanche activity last summer. Plan B: I drove to Malga Ciapela, and headed up to Pas de Ombreta (2702m) on the backside of the Marmolada Gruppo. I spent the night at Bivacco Marco Dal Bianco. Day 5: Trail E650 to the peak Ombreta Orientale (3011m), then via the AV2 route to Passo de le Cirèle (2683m) and Passo San Pelligrino. On day 6 I headed to Passo Valles from whereI made my way to Bivacco Giorgio Brunner on the AV2 route, via Forcella Margherita (2655m) and Passo delle Farangole (2814m). Day 7 I merged back with the AV2, passed Refugio di Rosetta and Refugio Pradidali then headed up into the massif of Pale di San Martino Parco Naturale. I tried to reach another bivacco only to find out it was only reachable by a climbers route. Instead I wild camped on the (cold) plateau. On day 8 I headed to Passo delle Lede and down to Val Canali. From there I drove to the Tre Cime (Dreizinnen) where I spent my final night above the Dreizinnenhütte on Sasso di Sesto (2539m). Itinerary on 🤍 This trip is made possible by SOTO. GOING HIKING THIS SUMMER? HERE'S WHAT YOU SHOULD WEAR: 🤍 Purchases made through links may earn us and our publishing partners a commission.
What are my thru hiking plans for the year? Now that I have done both the Appalachian Trail and Pacific Crest Trail.... Am I going to hike the Continental Divide Trail as well to become a triple crowner? Not yet! I am doing some hikes that may be shorter and less well known, but will certainly up the difficulty by many magnitudes beyond everything else I have ever done before. This year I am hiking the Grand Enchantment Trail, the Great Divide Trail, and as a bonus fun one hopefully the Colorado Trail towards the end of the year! The Grand Enchantment Trail to start is roughly a 770 mile route through the desert southwest created by Brett Tucker, starting in Phoenix Arizona and finishing in Albuquerque New Mexico! Though in it's name is the word trail, it is more of an idea or a route as very little of this hike will be on a trail at all! A fair amount of cross country connecting some existing trails, with some forest service roads thrown in there as well. This route will take me through canyons and washes, across desert valleys, and high up into the sky island mountains. I don't expect to see any other GET thru hikers while I am out there, and think that I will be alone in the desert... for about 40 days. More about the GET: 🤍 The Great Divide Trail will be a very stark change afterwards. Again a 750 mile thru hike, but this time up in the Canadian Rockies. Starting just north of where the CDT terminates at the US and Canada border the GDT continues north deeper into some big glaciated mountains and remote territories. Home of grizzly bears and questionable weather. Big rivers, big meadows, and big food carries. I've heard from a couple friends that this is the most beautiful hike that they have ever done. More about the GDT: 🤍 Towards the end of the year as a bonus hike, I may try to do the 500 mile Colorado Trail as well. Traveling from Denver to Durango across the Rocky Mountains. It will be a fun and beautiful way to finish up! It's going to be an interesting year! No Bad Days Hiking Shirt! 🤍 Hiking Essentials Shirt! 🤍 THE BACKPACKING GEAR I USE: 🤍 If you would like to get access to content I create about this type of stuff I don't share anywhere else join me on my Patreon! 🤍 If you'd like more info about me, my hiking, or painting: 🤍 🤍 🤍

We've never really been hiking around Kullu town before, and a lot of our subscribers recommended that we go to Kais Dhar for a day hike. And man was it spectacular! The trail starts from Lot Village, about a 20km drive from Mohal, Kullu. The trail leading to Kais Dhar is one of the easiest we've done so far but still high on rewards. Further up from the famous ridge, atop the peak are the ruins of an old fort at Chamba Garh. We made it to the top but sadly couldn't experience the panoramic views as the clouds shrouded the horizon and it started hailing down on us. ► Group Hike to PATAGONIA 🤍 🤍 STORE WITH PRINTS - 🤍 The TRAVEL GUIDE of this trip with everything you need to know (getting there, trails, weather, bonus sections, camp regulation and sites, indoor overnights and more) available on THATCH: 🤍 ABOUT THE HIKE In May 2022 I solo hiked the Skye Trail on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. On this thru hike from the northern tip of the island south I encountered some of the worst weather I've ever had on a hike with days of rain and extreme wind. Just how I imagined Scotland to be. (; I started my hike at the red phone booth at Duntulm and hiked north to the bothy (wilderness hut) Rubha Hunish. I followed the cliffs south towards Flodigarry where I cut my day short when I spotted the perfect camp spot on top of a 50m high cliff above the ocean. From Flodigarry I went into the Quiraing passing by The Needle and then climbed the Trotternish Ridge. I followed the 30km ridge south in some of the worst weather I've ever had on a hike. Passing by the old man of Storr I made my way to Portree for a night indoors. The final 3 stages I went into the Cuillin hills via Glen Sligachan. I diverted from the 'official' Skye Trail by passing over the Black Cuillins to the majestic Loch Coruisk. I made my way along the coast merging with the official trail again at Camasunary bay. The last day I hiked the elevated trail to Elgol and the coastal section from Torrin to Broadford via the ruins of the Suisnish and Boreraig villages. SOLO CAMPING HEAVY RAIN - HIKING IN LONG HEAVY RAIN NON STOP - ASMR Hello buddy.. This time I walked to a place in the resin forest, unexpectedly the rain fell and grew heavier in the middle of the trip, until I arrived at the place I wanted to build a tent still under heavy rain, cold and wet did not make me undo the intention to stay. It is undeniable that there is a very satisfying taste if it can be enjoyed during heavy rains, and to celebrate it I have chicken noodles and a warm drink. The night was late and I relaxed to relax and enjoy a lot because it was still accompanied by the sound of the rain. Thank you for watching and always supporting my channel, have a nice day Greetings DenMas Hengki Email : hengkiharsono80🤍gmail.com IG : Hengkimetalboys #solocamp #campinginrain #campinginheavyrain
