Air New Zealand has just launched non-stop flights between New York and Auckland, New Zealand. I was invited to fly on the inaugural flight which is currently the fourth longest flight in the world. The flight time was 16 hours 35 minutes. The video documents the whole flight experience from takeoff to landing. However, the inaugural did suffer a setback with a storm enroute which required additional fuel for safety so some bags were left behind. The current inward-facing Business Class seat on Air New Zealand will be replaced by a new product in 2024. I visited the new Skynest mock-up in Auckland. For the first time ever, economy class passengers are going to have the option of stretching out for some sleep on actual beds during their flight. There are also some great views of JFK Airport and New York City from the helicopter by ZIP Aviation in this video. 🤍

After some amazing plane spotting from the tower, I flew with Air New Zealand All Blacks on their B777-300/ER from Los Angeles to London. Air NZ have been proudly serving this route for 40 years but will be discontinuing their London service in October, citing that it cannot compete effectively. This flight is currently the longest one stop flight in the world, originating in Auckland, New Zealand and travelling to London via LA. During my flight, I checked out the Air New Zealand current Business Class product including the seat, food and beverages, amenity kits and the bedding. I also checked out the Air New Zealand Skycouch product in Economy, which is a first in the airline industry. The 3 seats can be converted into a flatbed, for yourself or to share with children. The UK based Air NZ crew were very friendly and took pleasure in showing me their finest food and beverages onboard. I even made some friends on the flight, due to the outward herringbone seating in Business Class. After landing, I was allowed in the cockpit to have a quick briefing from the captain. We flew for 9 hours and 40 minutes from LA to London. This trip and vlog were made in February. I strongly advise against all non-essential travel for the time being.

After a 17 hour non-stop flight from New York to Auckland, I continue my journey to Queenstown, in the South Island of New Zealand. Queenstown is one of the best scenic and most challenging airports in New Zealand. I am flying on an Air New Zealand A320neo in the cockpit behind the pilots. Captain Grant explains the multiple challenge factors due to the terrain, wind, low clouds and even snow in Queenstown. Enjoy the scenic ride across New Zealand. My next flight is to the capital of New Zealand; Wellington. The flight time from Auckland to Wellington was just 45 minutes. We flew at 34,000 ft on Air New Zealand A320neo. The pilot told me Wellington is usually very windy, and the runway is very short with just 6,000 ft making it even more challenging. Check out the landing!

As an airline, Air New Zealand has really been put to the test with the health crisis of 2020. I flew aboard New Zealand's Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner from San Francisco, California, USA to Auckland, New Zealand in May 2022. This is a popular route connecting both American and Canadian travelers to New Zealand. Many passengers also use Air New Zealand to connect further into Australian destinations. Overall it was a solid flight and certainly above average compared to competitors on this route. It was great to see free wifi aboard Air NZ, though I would appreciate a better mid-flight water or snack service. I have flown with many airlines including Air New Zealand many times in Economy Class, Business class and Premium Economy class, but this flight made me believe for sure that Air New Zealand is the best. I have tried to capture my trip from Singapore to Auckland on Air New Zealand in their Premium Economy Class. The Premium Economy seats on Air New Zealand were just super awesome, leather coated, great legroom and reclining up to a certain extent so as to give you a very good, night sleep. The food served was delicious and catered well to my Vegetarian needs and was served in a very presentable way. The staff were just awesome, Kudos to them. Right from the in-flight manager to the flight attendants, all did their jobs perfectly and that too with a great smile ! Air New Zealand is ranked as one of the Best Airlines in the World due to their great service and connections to so may different countries around the world. I had enjoyed my flight from Singapore to Auckland, in flight food served by Air NZ was just awesome and the Air NZ Air Hostess and on-board crew were very helpful and looking after the passengers extremely well.
