I've been following professional bass fishing tournaments for a LONG TIME and this has got to be the craziest thing I've ever seen. A showdown between Randy Haynes and Jason Lambert that ends in one of them quitting the tournament, despite leading the tournament coming into the day. We go buy whoever gets there first owns it and others have to stay at least a casting distance away unless it's mutually agreed between the parties but we also aren't fishing for $100,000
Drop your anchor and you get 50 yards. And you must have the trolling motor up. If you don't have both, it's free game or a community hole. Read the rules! Opinions don't matter.
Your a jerk! You young guys have no class
Who pulled up on the spot first on day 3? That is the person who had the right of way. I didn’t know the FLW didn’t have a 50ft separation distance?
Whoever was there first that morning was whose spot it was…. The other angler should have asked if he could also fish the spot. But don’t just assume you can pull up and just start fishing where someone else is fishing
Fishing and competition don't mix well. Money brings out the worst in some people.
Whoever got the first flight and got there first that day gets the spot, that's why they do different flights everyday of the tournament one day you could be boat 8, the next you could be boat 136, that's why they rotate flights
That just proves what an butthead the guy that got there second is. If someone is in a spot, you stay away and give right of way.
Does not matter who's in the lead, whoever is there first. Does not matter who fished there first, it's who was there first that day.
If that is going to be upheld, then each day the leaders should just mark the spot they want and no one can go there -- that's BS.
The lake is there for everyone. What if someone was just out fishing, not in the tournament ?
This story should be a quarter the length. Geez get on with it lol 😆
No he didn’t think because he was leading he should have it it’s just simple manners to not bother someone else while they fish
Angry comment😡😂
No ethics. Embarrassing if you have any morals
That was shittie of Lambert to do..
Who ever was there first has the spot and who ever gets that close after the fact is a A**
It's whomever gets there first, spot.
He should have been disqualified, I'd be checking his boat and his fish you know for weights, there's no gray area here, the guy that left, should have buried a lure in the jerk and drug him back to the dock, there's no unwritten rule in our club, but you can be disqualified, and removed from future tournaments,it belongs to the guy who got there first period,
it is a shame that the wonderful sport of fishing has gotten so commercialized that now cheaters are getting caught breaking all kinds of rules so they can be top dog for a year. I think these bait companies are to blame also cause they try to sell Merical's to fisherman to buy there baits cause they catch big fish. Look at them closely, one they are filming it in warm water climates, not up north in colder temps, two, they pick the perfect days to fish and if you notice there are no other boats fishing around them, these people have been pushed away. and these fisherman are out for the whole day but they don't show you they there own people finding the fish before the big name yahoo's even get into there own boats so others are looking for big bass to promote there products. seen it and happened to me. it is no longer family fun when you have to deal with these morons.
like you said Hayes got to the spot first then Jason should have given a 20 yard space from Randy's boat. What jason did was very dangerous and could have damaged both boats. I have fished that lake and with the barge traffic the waves could have dumped them both in the lake. it was poor sportsmanship and Jason should have had to forfeit the winnings do to that Un sportsmanship attitude be presented. I'm sorry for Randy for having to deal with a shmuck like Jason. He did not deserve this kind of person.
even the words "professional bass fishing tournaments" evoke (to a rationale mind) a monty python skit. the fact that these things actually exist prove the human race will never really evolve.
